Maybe someone should at least change the 'Set $wgLogo to the URL path to your own logo image.' logo? ;> --Cheetah 10:58, 29 November 2005 (EST)

I offer you a marmot from Glacier National Park. -- Brazil 9:04am, 29 November 2005 (PST)

Groovy. You realise, of course, that you just gave the wiki its mascot? ;) --Cheetah 17:22, 29 November 2005 (EST)

I have a 12" poster of this guy on my office wall. He is of yet, unamed. I wanted to maintain the illusion that somehow MUing is related to the outdoors. -- Brazil 2:27pm, 29 November 2005 (PST).

Then call it mudding. :) -- Javelin

Apparently, this is a Hoary marmot (Marmota caligata). First name is Hoary. Last name is marmot. So there. -- Brazil 4:18pm, 29 November 2005 (PST)

I suggest you name it "Flaps". -- Javelin

Given the unintended connotations of "Flaps", and the lack of enthusiasm for Hoary, I think the poll for names is still open. Hoary marmots can whistle, and marmots are members of rodent family. That is, they are related to squirrels, gerbils, hamsters, and rats. Too bad, there aren't any marmot characters in popular media that we could inappropriately appropriate. -- Brazil 1:11pm, 30 November 2005 (PST)

  • Whislter (same as the name of a operating system project)
  • MUSHskipper
  • Moxie
  • Donald Trumpet
  • Baron Von Marmausen
  • Gaius Bracchus Hoary
  • "mudflaps"
  • Oliver
  • Harrietta Hoary
  • ___, the Guard Marmot.
  • ___, the Marmot Bouncer.
  • Hermione
  • Hoary, the Smarmy Marmot.
  • Smarmot -- coined by Javelin

'Smarmot' wins with most in giggles and snickers -- Brazil 3:36pm, 30 November 2005 (PST)

Smartmot says, "This is such an honor. I can't wait for pay for everyone's lattes."

Policies

Not sure where this should go, so main page seemed best. Two questions related to (establishing?) policies:

  1. When should one mark edits as 'patrolled'?
  2. Flag names: While 'Foo' and 'foo' are the same, they differ from 'FOO', and since flag names are often, but not always, written in all caps..

I could see a few options for the latter:

  1. Decide on all caps.
  2. Decide on all lowercase.
  3. Decide on either, and always put the other as redirect.
  4. Don't decide on either, create with whichever tickles your fancy today, and the other will be the redirect (yech).

I'd probably go for either decide 'n redirect, or use all lower (because that's what seems to be used most so far).

Maybe we should make a page for this sorta thing..

Heh, I didn't see this until after I'd done most of the flsgs. I settled on all caps I guess though several have redirects from the capitalized word. - --Mark 14:46, 5 December 2005 (EST)
